Talk about a doggy bag.

Days after two French bulldog pups were taken (one from each of two pet stores), one of the dogs has been returned. Marcus the 2-month old pooch pictured at far right, was brought back to the Pickerington Petland Tuesday night. An anonymous caller to the store instructed employees to check the contents of a duffel bag left outside. Sure enough…there was Marcus.

Employees at the Dublin Petland are hoping for a similar phone call and the return of their missing bulldog Nemo.  (jj)

Police are looking for an alleged dognapper.

Petland employees at stores in Dublin and Pickerington report that a woman covered head-to-toe in a burka went into their stores on Sunday, snuck puppies into her handbag and left. The Dublin store says that a 15-week old French bulldog named Nemo is missing. The Pickerington Petland is also missing a French bulldog pup…a 2-month old dog named Marcus. The Dublin incident was captured on store surveillance. Anyone with information is asked to call police.

Several weeks ago, dogs were taken from Petland stores in Hilliard and in North Columbus. One of those puppies was later returned. It’s unknown if either of these acts are related to the most recent crimes.  (jj)
