Update: Second suspect arrested in pizza delivery driver murder

Update: Columbus police have charged a second suspect with the October murder of James Crabtree. Sean Fletcher (18-years-old) was arrested yesterday and charged with murder, robbery, and kidnapping in relation to his alleged involvement with Crabtree’s death.

Teen arrested in pizza delivery driver murder

16 year-old Diondre Jefferson was arrested last night in connection with the murder of a pizza delivery driver that took place in October. Jefferson is charged with murder, aggravated robbery, and kidnapping. The investigation is ongoing.

On Oct. 29, police responded to reports of multiple shots being fired in the area around the 700 block of N Cassady Ave. A 991 caller told police that someone had been shot, and police later identified the man as James Crabtree Jr. Crabtree was working as a delivery driver for Grandma’s Pizza on E Broad St. (deb)

While delivering a pizza, worker was shot and killed

A pizza delivery man was simply taking a pizza to where it had been ordered Wednesday night on the east side. James Crabtree Jr., 45, who was making the delivery was shot in the upper body and pronounced dead at the scene. He had been a worker at Grandma’s Pizza on East Broad Street and had switched his shift so that he could take his 5-year-old daughter trick or treating on Thursday, 10TV reported.
