“Winter is coming” to central Ohio

This weekend, Columbus was treated to 50 degree weather (and one of the state’s favorite forms of precipitation: rain). But this nice spike in spring-like temperatures was quickly dashed by reports that a winter-storm watch has been issued for most of central Ohio from tonight into tomorrow (Tues.) morning.

Today saw potential flurries and temperatures in the low teens, but meteorologists are reporting that Columbus could see up to six inches of snow by Tuesday morning. Temperatures will stay around zero degrees for the next few days, and wind chill factors will push that to anywhere between 15-25 degrees below zero.
