Dublin’s Paras Pumpkins Reveals This Year’s Masterpieces

A local and incredibly known artist and breast-cancer survivor, Jeannette Paras, buys humongous pumpkins from local farmers and paints them to represent the year’s biggest celebrities.

This year, the world’s most high-profile political figures made the cut and last year’s “Trumpkin” returned with Hillary “Clintkin” and “Putkin.”

Paras has been painting giant pumpkins since 1988, for a current total of 80 pumpkin celebrities, including Kanye West, Miley Cyrus, and Barack Obama. At times, she will use her pumpkins to raise money and awareness for breast cancer, a cause close to her heart after surviving and enduring breast cancer twice, the most recent case in 2015.

If you’re wondering where the seeds go, Paras works with local farmers to collect the seeds for them to grow for next year’s giant pumpkin batch.
