Lost Weekend Records Sets Up for Annual Labor Day Record Swap & Fair
Lost Weekend is making sure there is more to do than eat hamburgers and potato salad this upcoming Labor Day. They’re hosting their annual Parking Lot Record Swap & Fair, effectively turning a slow day into a fun, busy day.
Kyle Siegrist, the owner of Lost Weekend Records, opened the store back before the vinyl revival had really struck, and has now been smack dab in the middle of a renaissance.
“Lost Weekend is doing great, but back in ’05 & ’06 is when things really started to kick.” Kyle said to me, “Columbus has a great record scene, always has — and I thought that when I opened specialising solely in vinyl could be Lost Weekend’s our thing, our niche and I consider us part of the new breed of stores that followed, that only do vinyls like Spoonful, and Dreadful Sounds.”
The record swap this weekend takes place on Monday, yes — you read that right, it will be on Labor Day!
What can people expect? Well, it isn’t just a record swap. You don’t need to own a huge collection to participate, it’s vendor heavy and you can purchase all types of goodies.
“There will be around ten or twelve vendors selling their stuff and we’re going to have a 20% off used and 10% off new stuff inside the shop. We’ll also have a tent of $1 records. Just a great variety of stuff really.” Kyle said.
For the past few years, Lost Weekend’s Labor Day Record Swap has been safe from the rain and this weekend is aligning with the trend. So get out there and start your record collection, or improve the one you already have.
