Any millionaires out there? You’ll love the changes coming to Ohio Stadium
It was announced yesterday that Ohio Stadium will undergo significant renovations in the coming years–we’re talking $42 million worth.
The catch? OSU Athletics isn’t adding any new seats, instead they’re adding new suites.
According to the announcement made at a press conference yesterday, the biggest changes include the addition of 12 luxury suites, a revamp of the stadium’s University suite, and the addition of 32 loge boxes.
Unless you actually know what a loge box is, this probably doesn’t sound too exciting to you. But OSU has to court those million-dollar donors somehow, right?
Interestingly enough, the total number of seats is actually being decreased from 104,944 to 102,854, meaning The Shoe is losing more than 2,000 seats to make way for the VIPs.
Renovations to the concrete on C-deck were also announced, in addition to upgrades to B-deck, like better scoreboards and bigger TVs, and behind-the-scenes changes like mechanical and electrical upgrades.
