Blue Jackets Coach to Bench Any Team USA Players Over Anthem Protest

Columbus Blue Jackets and Team USA hockey coach John Tortorella has officially taken a stance on the Colin Kaepernick-style anthem protests that have been dominating sports discussion for the past month.
Speaking to ESPN’s Linda Cohn, “If any of my players sit on the bench for the national anthem, they will sit there the rest of the game.”
ABC 6/FOX 28 spoke with Tortorella prior to his ESPN appearance to which he spoke of the “men and women overseas doing the real stuff.” He went and further said that it is their chance to “give back as entertainers and sportsmen.”
Team USA is set to go against Team Canada in a World Cup of Hockey pre-tournament at Nationwide Arena, this Friday.
