Florentine Restaurant Closing after 71 Years

Over the bridge in Franklinton is a landmark that has been serving food for nearly a century but this upcoming Friday will mark it’s final night serving the community. The Florentine announced via Facebook that after 71 years, they’ll be closing two days before Christmas on Friday, Dec. 23rd.

Many are speculating that the closing is due to some kind of “millennials not liking old world Italian food” which is probably close to being right on the money but that’s merely speculation. Regardless of my generation’s insistency to upset the balance, Florentine’s facebook post has 880 and counting shares, many of them grieving over a legit Columbus landmark vanishing at the end of the year.
