Fukuryu Ramen to open Bridge Park location

Dublin’s Bridge Park is getting yet another new restaurant: Fukuryu Ramen.

Owner Jeff Tsao opened his first U.S. location in Upper Arlington at 1600 W. Lane Avenue earlier this year (see below), but he says the new 2,600 square-foot Bridge Park location will be his flagship restaurant.

Tsao said the new space, which is almost twice as large as the Upper Arlington location, allows for the opportunity to try out new menu items, in addition to seating more customers.

Eventually, he hopes to turn the authentic ramen concept into a franchise brand.

But for now, expect to see the new Fukuryu Ramen at Bridge Park by Spring of 2017.

3/8/16: Son of Kahiki restaurant owner opens authentic ramen restaurant

Jeff Tsao has a culinary legacy to uphold in Columbus, and from the looks of his newly opened Upper Arlington restaurant, Fukuryu Ramen, he’ll carry on his family’s name with pride.

The son of Michael Tsao and Alice Tsao, owners of the legendary Kahiki restaurant and frozen food line, Jeff Tsao started his own foray into food in Melbourne, Australia, where he opened the first Fukuryu Ramen.

After success down under, Tsao is trying out the concept in central Ohio.

The restaurant serves up authentic Japanese-style ramen–not the kind you can buy for quarters (and probably lived off of in college).

The signature dish is a noodle soup in a pork bone broth with sliced pork, dried seaweed, green onions, sesame seeds and a host of spices that combine in a complex and delicious flavor.

Though the menu is currently limited to four soups and four appetizers, Tsao plans on expanding the menu in about a month.

For a chance to try ramen as it was meant to be eaten, head on over to 1600 W. Lane Ave. between 11 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. for lunch, or 5:30 and 9 p.m. for dinner.
