Legendary Columbus deli Katzinger’s is sold
The Columbus Queen of Reuben is stepping down from the throne.
Katzinger’s co-founder and longtime owner Diane Warren announced today the landmark Columbus deli will be sold to cityBRANDS president Tim Rollins, who operates all four Wine Bistro locations around Columbus.
According to Warren, the time was right to make the sale.
“Co-founding and owning Katzinger’s has been an incredible experience and one of the great honors of my life,” Warren wrote in a press release. “However, I’m almost 70 years old, and it would be irresponsible not to have a succession plan in place to continue the great legacy of Katzinger’s in Columbus.”
The sale includes the restaurant’s flagship location and its North Market stall.
Though Warren will stay on board for a while to help ease the transition, Rollins said he’s excited about his vision for the restaurant.
“It is practically unheard of to be in the restaurant business and still thriving after more than 30 years,” Rollins wrote in a press release. “Katzinger’s is an institution in Columbus and we look forward to many great years ahead.”
