Owners of The Pint House, Forno to open new Short North restaurant!

Corso Ventures, the owners of The Pint House and Forno, sent out a press release this morning announcing its newest project: Standard Hall.

Located at 1100 N. High Street between 3rd and 4th Ave., Standard Hall aims to be a community hub and a high-quality gastropub, serving up craft brews and bar food staples done exceptionally well.

“You can see all the standard things you can have at your average restaurant or bar, but we’re also setting the standard,” Reed Woogerd, Director of Operations for Corso Ventures told 614NOW. “We want our burger to be the burger you dream of when you think about getting a burger at a bar.”

One of the main goals for the new establishment is to create a “backyard barbeque” type of atmosphere–a block party where the entire city is invited.

“I think it’s going to be a very neighbor-oriented crowd,” Woogerd said. “There really isn’t much in that area so I feel like the people in those pockets are going to naturally make that their home base.”

The restaurant’s high ceilings and interior decor aim for an “industrial, steampunk vibe,” which Woogerd hopes will set the establishment apart from the competition.

Construction began 6 weeks ago and he hopes the restaurant will be open by June of this summer.

Though a proposal for the outdoor section has yet to be submitted to the Italian Village Commission for approval, Woogerd hopes to populate a patio with patrons and food trucks.

And as with any great Columbus establishment, Ohio brews are on tap, Ohio spirits are in the cocktails, and the food on the menu comes straight from the heartland.
