Federal Judge Delays Execution of Three Ohio Inmates

Earlier this year Ohio ruled to continue executions after a three year lull where the state deliberated on the use of lethal chemicals.
The drugs used now will be a combination of three drugs — midazolam, used to put an inmate to sleep, rocuronium bromide, which paralyzes, and potassium chloride, which stops the heart.
Now, a Federal judge has issued a stay of execution, or rather a delay that suspends the execution temporarily, according to NBC4i. This move came after the law around lethal injections that shields details about the drugs being used was challenged.
The stay can be lifted if a Federal appeals court determines a ruling before the first scheduled execution of Ronald Phillips on January 12th.
