John Kasich cancelled a speech scheduled in a D.C. think tank that would have injected his word into the recrafting of the Republican party.
Sources close to the governor said to the Columbus Dispatch that Kasich cancelled his speech due to Trump’s unexpected win for the presidency.
He tweeted out a congratulations to Trump, though he previously ran against him, lost his own state to Trump’s vote, and announced he wouldn’t support Trump as a candidate.
The American people have spoken and it’s time to come together. Congratulations President-elect @realDonaldTrump.
