Donald Trump’s campaign manager in Ohio, Robert Paduchik, was named as the deputy co-chair of the Republican National Committee.
“In addition to being a key leader in helping us win big in Ohio, I am confident he is going to work very hard to continue the excellent work the RNC has done of building the Republican Party up to a record level of strength,” said the president-elect in a statement.
The change is due to RNC Chairman Reince Priebus, who will become Trump’s chief of staff.
Paduchik is a political veteran with deep ties to the Bush family’s campaigns having run both of George W. Bush’s efforts in Ohio successfully, and working with Gov. Jeb Bush and his campaign during the 2016 primary.
