Convicted Sex Offender Caught After Columbus State Voyeurism

A convicted sex offender, Marrio Lyles, was arrested on September 1st after fleeing a woman’s bathroom at Columbus State.

He was caught sliding a camera underneath a stall, taking pictures of the victim while she was on the toilet. The victim noticed what was happening and with the help of another woman, chased Marrio Lyles from the bathroom.

According to investigators, Lyles admits he was present in the women’s bathroom at Columbus State on August 31st.

Lyles is not a student, according to Columbus State — they’ve reacted quickly and have said safety is always a top priority according to FOX28.

Marrio Lyles has a history of sex crimes and faces two misdemeanor charges with the most recent incident.

He spent 9 months in Jefferson County for assault — violating his probation.

According to FOX28, his history of crimes include:

  • A similar dressing room voyeuristic crimes at a JCPenny and Kmart
  • Taking pictures of women without their consent.
  • Performing a ‘sex act’ behind an unsuspecting grandmother at a laundromat.

Lyles has reportedly admitted to Judges and Prosecutors that he has a ‘problem.’
