Alert your inner kid: dinosaurs are coming to COSI
It looks like COSI might be getting some big visitors in the coming years.
After years of requests for more natural history at the science museum, it was announced today that COSI could be displaying dinosaur skeletons in the coming years, converting unused space at the museum into a “regional attraction.”
The Columbus Partnership, a group of high-powered central Ohio business leaders, submitted a $5 million request to the state legislature to help facilitate the exhibit, which would be made possible through collaboration with New York’s American Museum of Natural History.
With the projected state budget coming in at about $2.6 billion, one can only hope that a few million dollars can be spared to get dinosaurs in Columbus.
UPDATE: A press release on the state budget confirms that the full $5 million for the exhibit has been included in the state budget.
Dinosaurs in Columbus? I don’t know about you, but I’m pumped.
