Columbus CEO In Prison for the Lamest Bribe Ever
A former Columbus CEO of Redflex, a company that provided the city of Columbus its red light cameras, pleaded guilty for bribing city officials, according to 10tv.
Karen Finley, the CEO in question, admitted to bribery and fraud and in a second case, admitted to providing gifts, meals, and hotels to Chicago city officials. She was given 14 months in prison, which was a reduced sentence, according to 10tv, because she aided in prosecuting others involved in the same or similar cases.
Her sentencing comes after former Columbus lobbyist, John Raphael, plead guilty to extorting campaign contributions from Redflex to add to the Democratic Party.
For all the crimes there have ever been, to be sentenced to 14 months in prison for bribing people in order to sell more red light cameras, that has to be one of the lamest crimes ever. Or you’re just really passionate about traffic cameras. Whatever floats your boat.
She was already the main provider of red lights to the city of Columbus, so why she felt the need to bribe people for more is beyond our comprehension.
