The Columbus Police Department was well-fed this week after an anonymous benefactor donated 1,200 City Barbeque meals as a way of saying thanks.
According to a police spokeswoman, the man contacted Police Chief Kim Davis asking to provide a meal for as many Columbus Police officers as possible.
On Tuesday and Thursday, the donor had 1,200 City BBQ meals sent to various police locations throughout the city, split up among shifts to sate the appetites of as many police as possible.
Columbus Police wrote in a Facebook post that they’ve received countless letters, emails, pictures, candy, cookies and words of support over the past few weeks to help lift officers’ spirits.
