Deer-Gun Hunting Season Closes, Hunters take out 67,000 Deer

The state has reported that nearly 67,000 white-tailed deer have been “harvested” during the weeklong deer gun hunting season that ran between Nov. 28th to Dec. 4th.

The Ohio Division of Wildlife’s goal is to maintain a healthy population that maximizes recreational opportunities and also minimizes that chances the deer would have conflict with landowners and drivers.

There are two more days of deer-gun hunting season on Dec. 17th and 18th. Archery season goes through the holidays all the way to Feb. 5th. Muzzleloader season is set for Jan. 7th to Jan. 10th.
