Firefighters injured combating two-alarm fire

Reynoldsburg firefighters were combating a two-alarm fire at an apartment complex when two firefighters inside the burning building were injured when the roof collapsed on them.

The fire was on the 2500 block of Breanna Place at about 3:56 p.m. Monday.

The firefighters were taken to Grant Medical Center and are expected to be okay, according to a spokesman for the fire department.

When firefighters saw the apartment fire spreading to the attic, they called for a second crew to come for backup.

It’s unclear what started the fire, but most of the 16 apartments in the complex have damage. Fortunately, all people and pets were successfully evacuated.
