Goodbye Grandview Mercantile: 12-story building proposed

Antiques retailer Grandview Mercantile might soon be a thing of the past, as real estate developer The Pizzuti Companies eyes the property at 881 North High Street.

The 20,394 square-foot building is one of the largest single-story buildings in the Short North, and would be replaced by a 12-story complex containing a mix of retail, parking and condos under the new proposal.

The store has not indicated whether or not they will be relocating, should the sale go through.

The Pizzuti Companies will be hosting a community question and answer session regarding the new building at The Joseph Hotel this Wednesday, June 8 at 6:30 p.m. The Short North Civic Association will be a part of the discussion.

Grandview Mercantile was voted best furniture store by (614) Magazine readers in 2014.
