Michael Perkins was out for a walk around midnight in the Hilltop neighborhood when one of his sons pointed out a gator on the street.
Perkins thought he was joking at first, but he turned around to find that there was indeed a 2-foot long alligator laying out next to the curb of the street.
Jumping into action, Perkins grabbed a mop bucket and one of his dive fins. Using the fin as a makeshift spatula, he flipped the alligator into the bucket and took it home to tape its mouth shut.
He then called 911, and officers picked up the gator to deliver it to the Ohio Department of Agriculture.
It’s not clear where the alligator came from, or why it was hanging out on the Hilltop.
