No knickers needed: World Naked Bike Ride Columbus announced
Every year since 2009, the World Naked Bike Ride has descended on Columbus on a warm summer night, with its unique mix of politics and debauchery.
It was just announced that this year’s “bare as you dare” bike ride will be on June 11 at 9 p.m.
It’s legal for both men and women to be topless in Columbus, though whipping out anything below the belt can get you charged with indecent exposure.
Columbus Police will be informed about the event beforehand, but the Facebook page suggests socks for guys and merkins for ladies.
Over 1,500 people attended last year’s ride in an alleged protest of cyclists’ vulnerability to cars, America’s dependence on fossil fuels and body shaming.
It’s unclear how many of those 1,500 just wanted to ride their bikes naked through downtown and see some boobs and/or dongs.
