Ohio State Scholar-Athlete Fikayo Idowu drowns

Fikayo Idowu’s teammates only began to understand the reality of the situation at Saturday’s memorial.

Idowu, an Ohio State junior and a third-year member of the school’s soccer team, tragically drowned on the night of June 25 during a trip to Apple Valley Lake with his teammates.

Though his friends say he was quiet, they say he was very intelligent and a hard worker, intending to become a surgeon after graduating.

Originally from Nigeria, Idowu was a two-time OSU Scholar-Athlete.
