The lights in Lancaster are finally back on
UPDATE: AEP officials announced around 10:30 this morning that power in Lancaster is finally back on. Enjoy those air conditioners, people!
After being told power would be back on this morning, Lancaster residents learned today that the lights might not be back on until tonight.
With the weekend’s brutal weather set to continue into this week, the timing couldn’t be worse.
According to electricity provider AEP, issues at a power substation that feeds electricity to Fairfield County is the cause of the outage.
On Twitter, AEP said power would hopefully be restored to 1,900 dark houses between 4 and 6 p.m. tonight.
