Tired of waiting at the bus stop, wondering if you missed your ride? Well, wonder no more–Central Ohio Transit Authority CEO Curtis Sitt told the Columbus Dispatch yesterday that central Ohio residents should expect real-time bus tracking by the second half of 2016.
COTA has hired tech company the Trapeze Group to gather the necessary data to make bus tracking a reality, and they are currently working with web developers to make the program easy to access.
Some Columbus residents may recall unsuccessful efforts to implement real-time bus tracking as early as 2010, which were plagued by unreliable data. This time, Sitt says, the results will be different.
