Salad indicted in death of Ohio woman

A new lawsuit is aimed at the Dole plant in Springfield, claiming a 79-year-old Franklin County woman died of Listeria after eating a salad from the plant.

Attorneys are accusing the plant of failing to prevent contamination.

Though Dole denied to comment on the suit, a Listeria outbreak from the same plant back in February caused 19 illnesses in several states and a death in Michigan.

The plant was closed for 3 months after the outbreak.

Listeria is a bacteria sometimes found in raw vegetables that can lead to gastrointestinal infection.
