Third Fire This Week: Hilliard Farmer’s Market “Completely Destroyed”
For nearly four hours after midnight Friday morning, Firefighters battled raging flames in Hilliard.
The fire broke out on the 800 block of Hilliard Rome Road, home to the Hilliard Farmer’s Market. Officials had the road blocked off for the majority of the morning, and there has been no reports or word on when it would be reopening.
There are no reported injuries but the damage to the market looks severe, Matt Barnes of NBC4i goes so far as to say, “completely destroyed.”
This has been the third major fire at a popular business — the first this week was a fire at Plank’s Bier Garten causing nearly $50,000 in damages. There was also a fire in Hocking Hills at the Hocking Hills Dining Lodge which was overseeing a complete renovation at the time.
We will update as information becomes available.
