Kesha is Playing the “Welcome Back” OSU Concert At The Schott

Hey! This is cool. Kesha is playing the annual Welcome Week Concert for OSU. A few changes though, it’ll take place during the second week of classes and at the Schott as opposed to the South Oval.

“We thought this would be the best one, especially with the artist so we can put on full production and use all of the resources available to us, which is something that you can’t do if the concert is outdoors or the venue has limited capabilities,” said Mike Avdey, a fourth-year in operations, told The Lantern.

Kesha is a notoriously bombastic performer which is one of the reasons why the concert has been moved back to the second week of classes.

Going year to year, things are likely to keep changing. Depending on the concert, it could take place at the Schott. Avdey is working on shuttle bases and on getting CABS busses to take students out to the Schott, just like basketball game days.

As of right now, there is no opening act.

Tickets are required for entrance, as opposed to the wristbands used in the spring concert. You can nab some of them with a BuckID. More details will be available in the coming weeks.

The 2016 Welcome Back Concert is set to take place on Sept. 2 at 5:45 p.m. at the Schottenstein Center.
