Ohio State breaks own record for enrollment

Thanks to a greater focus on academics, a thriving social scene, stellar sports teams and all kinds of brand new aesthetic and recreational additions (including a clock tower next year), it’s more competitive than ever to get into The Ohio State University.

The university set a record for enrollment this year, reaching a whopping 45,922 applications–69 percent more than they received in 2011.

OSU is on pace to achieve the largest student body in the nation, behind only the University of Central Florida in undergraduate enrollment, and Arizona State University in total enrollment.

That is to say, the university has come a long way since its founding in 1870.
