10-story Hotel to Potentially Replace Short North’s Haiku

A legendary week for development news just gets bigger and bigger — news out of Bizjournals says that Crawford Hoying Development Partners LLC is proposing a 10-story hotel and office on Haiku’s lot, including the adjacent parking lot at High & Hubbard.

Crawford Hoying acquired the 0.5 acre site back in July for 4.1 million.

This would be the first Short North project the Dublin-based developer would oversee. It has partnered with the Marriott to bring a new kind of hotel into the hotel-dense area, called The Moxy.

This includes a new two-level parking garage, that’ll have 146 parking spaces for the 111 room hotel.

There is no word on whether Haiku would be demolished or would be built on top of and Crawford Hoying isn’t commenting on restaurants in their proposed building.
