UPDATED: Bomb Squad Called to City Hall

UPDATE: According to Fox28, authorities are still investigating as to whether there was criminal intent behind the person who left the suspicious package, now reportedly a suitcase, hidden in some bushes next to City Hall. Arson and bomb sniffing dogs were used all over downtown looking for any other causes of concern, and police are working with camera information of the individual who left the suitcase, according to Fox28. Police have not released any details on what was inside the suitcase. 

According to Fox28, there was a suspicious package found in front of Columbus City Hall.

Police evacuated 150 people from the  building as a precaution and a bomb squad was called in with a robot to investigate the scene, according to Fox28.

According to Fox28, witnesses said a man dressed in black was carrying a briefcase of some sort and dropped the briefcase in front of City Hall then left.

The package was found on West Broad Street and Marconi Boulevard. Southbound traffic on Marconi Blvd. is currently closed.

Columbus Police Department has not yet released any details. Check back here for updates as the story develops.
