Used Kids Records relocating after 30 years on High Street

Longtime campus record store Used Kids Records is moving from its current upstairs shop on High Street to a new street-level storefront at 2500 Summit Street just south of Hudson.

At a time when vinyl record sales are at their highest since the late 80’s, the new space could be a boon for business.

According to a press release, the new location will be in the 2,580 square-foot building that used to house Young’s Market, allowing for spacious aisles to browse records and more room for the record store’s signature “underground” in-store live performances.

“Think no more steps. Think a bigger stage for local and national musicians to play in the store,” writes owner Greg Hall. “We’re really excited for the new opportunity to re-imagine Used Kids Records while maintaining the vibe and traditions of our long-time High Street store.”

Though the move will take the store away from campus, it will position the record store near live music venue Rumba Café and tattoo parlor Evolved.

Expect for the move to happen some time in May.
