West Cherry Street ‘parklet’ opens tomorrow

An underused alley is being turned into a pedestrian-centric ‘parklet,’ complete with picnic tables and artwork.

Made possible by development group PlaceMakes, the new West Cherry Street park is hosting a grand opening party tomorrow at 6:30 p.m., where attendees are invited to help paint a community mural.

Plus, “Cherry Sundays” will be hosted in the space throughout the summer on a biweekly basis, where vendors and entertainers will create an interactive marketplace in the new park.
