Mad Libs with Switchfoot, their journey to Columbus + free tix
It’s been nearly a year since Switchfoot has dared to move onto a Columbus stage but that doesn’t mean they’ve stopped thinking about us. For the past 9 months, the band has been dreaming about the midwest’s lightning bugs and Columbus’ Jeni’s Ice Cream.
Soon, they won’t have to dream.
Switchfoot will be in the capital city Wednesday, July 26 with accompaniment from Lifehouse.
We chatted with Switchfoot Drummer Chad Butler and did some Columbus mad libs. Here’s what he has to say about playing for the Buckeyes
Dear Columbus,
We are having a epic time on tour! We cannot wait to arrive in Ohio. Playing in the Midwest is rad because of the fireflies.
The whole sweaty ride to Columbus, we plan on jamming to Stevie Wonder to get us amped up (good vibes).
Once we arrive, we plan to stuff our faces with ice cream and hit up Jeni’s.
The last time we were in Columbus was October 2016. We played Express LIVE! and the crowd was the loudest ever.
After shows, we usually look for good local food but when we’re in Columbus, we’ll probably go straight to Jeni’s.
If you’ve never seen one of our shows before, you can expect all your favorite songs from Switchfoot and Lifehouse at Express LIVE! next week.
If you’re in the pit, we want to see you sing at top of lungs and dancing. When we play “Float” we want you to go absolutely insane. My favorite song to play is “If the House Burns Down Tonight” so look for me on the drums during that one.
Thanks to all our Columbus fan for singing along with the last 10 albums. We cannot wait to see you and have the best night of our lives. See you all Wednesday, July 26!
With Love,
Chad Butler, Switchfoot
