Ohio sculptor showcased at all-Ohio, all-women exhibit
A new all-Ohio, all-women exhibit in Lancaster titled Three Voices: Conversations of Life and Conflict will feature a sculptor from right here in Columbus. Carol Snyder uses porcelain to create wheel-thrown and hand-carved pieces with nature-inspired textures and patterns. Her minimalist approach evokes a sense of quiet and balance.
“Carol Snyder’s white porcelain vessels create a rhythm and a voice that patrons cannot help but engage with,” says Elizabeth Brown, acting co-director of the Decorative Arts Center where the exhibit will be housed.
Snyder’s work will be displayed alongside Judith Brandon’s (Cleveland) abstract landscapes and Leslie Shiels’ (Cincinnati) lush paintings. Together, the three women’s creative creations will emphasize the synergetic voice of female artists.
Visit Three Voices at 145 E Main St. in Lancaster’s Historical District now through August 13. Admission is free.
