Northside Mega Fix is hella open & awesome
After several years, travels and businesses along I-270/US-23/OH-315 corridor can rejoice. The ramps in the ‘Northside Mega Fix’ have been opened.
Not only was the area a pain in the ass to navigate before and during the construction, the roadwork being done over the past few years has put a serious damper on business situated along the US 23 and I-270. Jose Bandera of El Acapulco Mexican Restaurant told WOSU that he saw a decrease of business by 50 percent after construction started, but after seeing the result says it was well needed.
According to Ohio Department of Transportation, the section of I-270 between 315 and I-71 was the most congested and accident-prone area in the state. The wider lanes aim to alleviate those problems. Changes include new ramps and lanes to help reduce congestion, while also making it a faster commute for those who frequent the intersection.
Though the lanes are back open, there are still some final touches that need to be placed on the paving of I-270 between OH-315 and US-23, plus part of OH-315 near I-270.
