Columbus Fish Market Now Closed

One of two Columbus Fish Market restaurants have closed without warning or announcement.

Signs have been removed and crews can be seen cleaning out the space inside. According to Columbus Business First, 40 Hutchinson Ave. restaurant in the Crosswoods area was still open during the holidays and received OpenTable reviews for New Year’s Eve.

The Columbus Fish Market restaurants are owned by a Houston-based restaurant company, which has more than 500 restaurants across dozens of brands, including Morton’s Steakhouse and McCormick & Schmick. They bought the Fish Market as well as Mitchell’s Steakhouse chains in 2014 from Ruth’s Hospitality Group Inc. for an outrageously low $10 million.

The Fish Market on Olentangy River Rd. remains opens, as do the two Mitchell’s Steakhouse restaurants in Columbus which are also part of the restaurant chain.
