Comeback kid: G.D. Ritzy’s to return to Columbus

There is no better great American tale than a comeback story and G.D. Ritzy’s is no different.

The burger, shoestring fry, chili dogs, and premium ice cream chain closed its last central Ohio store in 1991 but is poised to return and nestle into Clintonville. It’ll take over what was once a used car lot at 4615 N High St. The “G.D” is getting dropped and will be known only as Ritzy’s.

It will seat 40 people and also have a walk-up window for ice cream.
The founder of the restaurant, Graydon D. Webb, hopes to have the restaurant ready to sling burgers and cones by late fall. But if you just can’t wait to sink your teeth into a fresh meat patty with hot, skinny fries, the franchise still has stores in Evansville, IN, Owensboro, KY, and Huntington, WV.
