Ohio State’s wrecking ball takes aim at Adriatico’s

After 30-some years, it’s looking like Adriatico’s Pizza on campus will become a pile of rubble by next year.

Ohio State plans to demo the old brick structure and nearby flower shop on 11th and Neil Avenues and replace it with a new office building for an optometry clinic, reports The Lantern.

The two business owners saw this day coming but weren’t exactly sure when it would arrive. Since being notified a few months ago, they’ve been working to secure a new location—hopefully next to each other—more centrally located but still near Med Campus.

If the plan is approved, it will use $28 million of university and auxiliary funds to complete.

Projected demolition day is sometime in September of 2018.
