The Pint House Hosts Bollinger Tower Benefit for Displaced Residents

Last year Jennifer Bryant wrote about Bollinger Tower and how it had been purchased by Schiff Capital Group, a developer that planned to redevelop the space into a Cambria Suites hotel, an upscale, all-suite brand of Choice Hotels. News later broke that The Columbus Metropolitan Housing Authority received an estimated $14 million from the sale, and had plans to use part of that money to relocate current tenants. The final amount settled on was a $500 voucher for each resident, only usable in certain areas. The assistance from CMHA will no doubt ease their transition, but residents will still face hard times as they leave their neighborhood – and neighbors – behind.

Which is why Reed Woogerd, Director of Ops. at Corso Ventures, overseeing Short North Pint House; Forno Kitchen + Bar, and Standard Hall has decided to do something special for the residents of Bollinger Tower.

“We love all those individuals and we wanted to do something nice for them. We’re their neighbors trying to throw them a kickass party. These are cool, beautiful people that have been a part of the Short North for a long time and we want to see them off the best way we can and do something positive for them.” Woogerd said to me. He spoke highly of them and lamented the sour situation they’ve been put in, which is why the proceeds from the Benefit Dinner will go to the residents of Bollinger Tower.

This benefit dinner will be held at The Pint House from 3-5 p.m. where they’ll be hosting the Bollinger Tower Residents.

There will be a complimentary buffet for residents but it will be open to the public — costing only $10 for non-residents. There will be drink specials sponsored by North High Brewing and Buckeye Vodka.

All donations will benefit the residents.
