In response to the controversy surroundings President Trump’s reaction to the attack in Charlottesville (saying the blame belongs on “many, many sides”), Mayor Andrew Ginther wanted his stance on the matter to be heard loud and clear throughout Columbus. He released this statement this afternoon,
“The national conversation since events in Charlottesville over the weekend has left some people confused about where President Trump stands. Let there be no mistake about your leaders in Columbus: White supremacy and bigotry are wrong. They are intolerable and do not represent who we are as a country or a community. There are not ‘many sides’ in this discussion. There is only one: To stand against racism.”
