Everyday heroes: Local bystanders overpower robber
When a local pharmacy was invaded by a young thief, bystanders did everything but stand by and watch it happen.
Around 7:15pm on November 4, Khalid Ali (18) entered the CVS at 7470 Sawmill Road and jumped the pharmacy counter and demanded specific drugs. He threatened to shoot the pharmacist if they didn’t comply.
Ali hurdled the counter again and took off towards the front of the store where an unidentified customer tackled him to the ground. Two more unnamed bystanders joined in to restrain Ali until police arrive. He was then arrested and charged with robbery.
Hoo-rah for citizen justice!
