A grand jury has indicted 13 people involved in a drug trafficking ring that funneled prescription pain medications from Florida to Franklin County, according to 10tv.
Starting March of 2015, 28-year-old Amanda Basich and 31-year-old Joshua Smith organized 11 others that would travel to Florida doctors to seek pain medications like Oxycodone.
By summer of 2016, both had separate trafficking organizations and had sold over 12,002 prescription pills in Franklin County with a street value of$165,000, said Franklin County Prosecutor Ron O’Brien to 10tv.
Basich and Smith could each face a minimum of 11 years incarceration, while the other 11 co-conspirators could face three years in prison.
