Dog owners in Franklin Township are on alert after a dog was attacked by someone while in her own backyard.
The owner, Kristen Robbins, believes the pet was injured after someone tried to steal her. The dog was slashed in the leg and burned, and now walks with a limp. “I honestly thought I would have to put her down,” Robbins told ABC6. “That’s my daughter’s best friend.”
This incident comes on the tail of multiple reports of attempts to steal dogs – with one stolen dog being recovered over a year later. Some local residents believe the pets are being stolen in order to force them to into dogfighting.
