CPD Sergeant Wakes Up to Home Intruder, Open Fires
Typically, you hear of home intruder stories as happening to random citizens, but an off-duty CPD Sergeant got a rude awakening after waking up from a mid-afternoon nap to find an intruder attempting to get inside his own house.
We’re guessing that this criminal wasn’t aware he was breaking into a decorated member of the CPD’s house and probably would have reconsidered had he known.
According to Fox28, the sergeant’s immediate reaction was to open-fire, but the intruder took off — leaving the sergeant uncertain if the intruder had been hit.
Columbus Police are investigating the scene after they found a car near the sergeant’s home they believe could have belonged to the intruder.
The sergeant lives on Gay Road, near Grove City.
