Local carryout/crime epicenter boarded up

Because of reoccurring robberies, holdups, stranglings, and other criminal behavior in the proximity, a carryout on Cleveland Ave. has been boarded up.

While there will be one less place to get milk and gummy worms, the city believes shutting down Mose’s One Stop Shop at 1609 Cleveland Ave will help curb crime in the area.

NBC4i reported that City Attorney Richard C. Pfeiffer described the crimes there as ones perpetrated by and against employees and a co-owner. The store posed a danger to the local community and employees. This closure was one part of the Linden Safe Streets program.
