Ohio State squares up with family of Mirror Lake victim

On November 25, 2015, an Ohio State student died after diving into Mirror Lake’s shallow waters. It has come time for Ohio State University to pay up.
To settle the negligence claim filed against them, OSU will pay $450,000. WOSU reports that the university does not admit any liability and are installing a family-donated bench honoring 22-year-old Austin Singletary. It is also reported that the Singletary family is pleased the situation has been resolved.
Since the tragic incident, the annual Mirror Lake Jump prior to the Ohio State vs Michigan game has been banned.
