Will a $1.6 million grant help you kick butts?

Several Franklin County agencies are getting a huge chunk of change to help you kick butts—cigs that is.

More than $1.6 million has been awarded to seven Franklin County Public Health agencies with the goal to increase tobacco quitters by 15 percent.

The grant last three years but the treatment infrastructure slated to be built during that time will be usable after the three years ends, reports The Dispatch.

The treatment programs will be offered to all tobacco users but an emphasis will be placed on the mentally ill, the impoverished, and pregnant women.

Tobacco is the #1 cause of preventable deaths, according to county Health Commissioner. Take advantage of the $1.6 million and kick cigarettes for good.
