Boom 106.3 pulls a fast one, drops hip hop throwbacks
No, you have the right dial—106.3 FM—and yes, that is Kendick Lamar’s “Humble” you hear. We’re sorry to inform you but 106.3 really had the gonads to boot Coast G funk, Wu -Tang, Tupac, Biggie, and the like from their playlists.
Boom 106.3 has dropped throwback hip hop and picked up Power 107.5 current rap format. The two stations will be simulcast.
And coming as no surprise, everyone is pissed about it.
Magic 95.5 will be picking up the classic hip hop slack and Boom 106.3 will also have Saturday and Sunday evening spots dedicated to our rap and R&B forefathers.
